I recently came across the work of painter Jasmina Danowski. From the P.S. Bookshop in Dumbo, I picked up the catalog from Danowski’s show “Paintings and Works on Paper 2004 – 2006.” Considered Abstract Expressionism, but with strong botanical references, the forward discusses the “reminiscent” quality of her style. As a fashion designer, I was particularly interested in this concept since Spring 2009 promises to think future forward and embrace nature’s organic awareness.
