Throughout the primary season the phrase “words matter” was debated between the candidates, but at today’s Unity rally marching over the Brooklyn Bridge, it is also “style matters!” Chris and I met Vinette and Kim fellow Obama supporters both dressed with a message. Vinette is a freelance journalist for international publications while donating her energy to the Obama campaign. As Chris and I entered our meeting point in Cadman Park in Brooklyn, I was immediately attracted to Vinette’s sunny personality and impressed with her signature Obama couture.
Vinette dressed up an original campaign T, not only for the 2008 election but demonstrated her confidence and included 2012, with a floor length batik wrap skirt accessorized with the perfect Japanese patterned parasol. Official Obama stickers combined with Vinette’s original campaign design finished the look to get out the vote! As we marched our way across the bridge, Vinette kept the paparazzi busy as our celebrity supporter. Kim joined our group after the rally speeches finishing the event at City Hall. She caught our eye wearing a specially designed Obama campaign T from Washington D.C. Kim’s citizen’s activism is impressive getting out the word in states that maybe be slower to change. We’re fired up, ready to go and look good doing it too!
