Our Fourth of July celebration, Friday night, Chris and I decided to watch the Macy’s display from Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in Dumbo. The venue was very impressive for the urban picnic crowd and tripled our fun with the incredible perspective of the Brooklyn Bridge, an exceptional view of the Waterfall Project by Danish artist Olafur Eliasson and explosive fireworks shown through the bridge’s cables.
It was touch and go from the impending rain, but the elements only amounted to a little drizzle. We didn’t think ahead to bring an umbrella, and as I took cover underneath a tree, Chris heroically grabbed these moody shots of the natural wonders.
This morning, looking through these photographs, the copper, bronze and rose skies impressed me along with the lights dotting the bridge creating a nostalgic mood. Click here to learn more about the Waterfall Project.
