Icon fashion illustrator, Steven Stipelman, boldly uses color and graphic contrast to convey drama. Beyond the foundation of line, shape and form as seen in Stipleman’s style effortlessly glides across the page. Fluidity isn’t just the drawing, but the loose brush stroke applying the color and pattern, freshly completes the statement. However the free strokes are clearly supported by solid structure giving the model shape.

I was a fashion illustrator on the staff of WWD with Steven Stipelman, sat a few drawing boards away- We worked with Kenneth KPB, Antonio, Dorothy Loverro-Rudy Millendorf was art director- I also taught at FIT for awhile and was on staff at Glamour magazine for 10 yrs-I’m doing research online for my upcoming lecture-
