Last night I caught the CD launch party for The Old Ceremony’s third album Walk on Thin Air at my favorite Brooklyn venue The Bell House. TOC originates in Chapel Hill, NC but lead singer/song writer Django Haskins like all of us, lived the Brooklyn scene. I’m new to their music and especially loved the debut of the music video Walk on Thin Air directed by Brett Ingram screened in the performance. It had a memorable silent film quality with the haunting melody narrating the surreal imagery that created an art house mood. TOC is figureheaded by songwriter/raconteur Django Haskins, and includes bassist Matt Brandau, drummer Dan Hall, vibes/organist Mark Simonsen, and violinist/keyboardist Gabriele Pelli.
