La MaMa Experimental Theatre, the creative risk-taking epicenter of NYC’s lower east side has re-opened their gallery (La Galleria) after a 2 year renovation. La Galleria is currently exhibiting Luba Lukova’s Social Justice poster portfolio. A provocative graphic collection of societal commentary expressed with an economy line and color, boldly display Lukova’s messages. Some of my favorite designs take on corporate greed, privacy and universal healthcare. The Health Coverage poster, which is a part of the collection, was recently in a prestigious exhibit during the Inauguration of President Obama in Washington, DC. Umbrellas, Social Justice & More at La Galleria is on display until May 31.
