Drawing is like making an expressive gesture with the advantage of permanence.
Henri Matisse

Taking a break from digital media, I grabbed my charcoal and newsprint pad and joined the
Brooklyn Artist’s Gym weekly quick pose model drawing group. Located in Park Slope’s revitalized Gowanus, BAG offers a studio setting for Brooklyn artists. Keeping the chalk gliding on the paper, the experience is a welcome contrast to the more controlled computer illustration. And since we’re consuming less, the naked human form is this season’s new silhouette.

Beautiful work. I sooooo wish I had the ability to do more then hen-scratch on paper. Perhaps hen-scratching will evolve as a new art form….
