Designer: Richard Smith

In a grand rebranding scheme to help rebirth the U.S. dollar, creative consultant Richard Smith created the Dollar ReDe$ign Project, inviting everyone to submit their redesign. Imagine as Timothy Geithner reassures our Gulf Allies on their dollar investments, introducing a bold new design would symbolize America’s recovery and direction. Still, the concept only in theory, why not give the Euro a run for its money! Visit the project site to view the winner of the online competition and all the entries. Below are just a few of my favorites.

“That will be two Kennedy’s and a Eisenhower please Sir.”

“If Nascar can do it why couldn’t we make money on money? Globalization, mass media, and consumerism, they’re king. So lets brand everything – if Manchester United can do it, why not the Fed? I’m lovin’ it!”

Designer: Michelle Haft
“My design encourages the people of the US to play their part in bettering the US economy by educating them on factors that affect it. Each bill references one of seven factors that affect the US economy, like the work force, industrial production, the Federal Reserve, and personal income. Bright colors paired with uplifting graphics help rally optimism for a brighter economic future.”
