Form following function created the newly produced inventive Vegetal Chair designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra. Using injection-moulding plastic technology crafted the ‘unnatural’ design. The contradiction became the process using nature as the model produced the finished chair for mass production, to be affordable and use inside or outside. The brilliance of Vitra’s presentation including Bouroullec’s sketches illustrates the morphing process from linear to dimensional that inspires every designer.
