Club Monaco’s cupcake truck caught my eye as well as many Soho shoppers last night at NYC Fashion’s Night Out 2009. My pal Stacy and I chose the downtown scene from the packed schedule having the mood of art gallery openings. With almost every retailer hosting festive parties opened to the public, a glass of champagne and passing hors d’oeuvres hoped to inspire shoppers investing in a new coat or just pick a bauble.

The fashion business in NYC is our second largest industry next to finance, supporting 175,000 jobs. Celebrating fashion with inventive displays, events and specially designed product may ignite the Fall season.
J.Crew, one of the busiest, chose to debut their new jewelry collection with designer Lisa Finkelstein. From the jelly beans at Prada to the block party Howard Street boutiques, Opening Ceremony and Jil Sander, literally brought fashion to the streets. Pictured below is Opening Ceremony’s fast fashion truck featuring Band of Outsider’s menswear ties.
