The CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival began this week in NYC and I caught an early show yesterday at Rockwood Music Hall. Indie singer songwriters Pete and J hosted their Happy Hour Show, a guilty pleasure on a Wednesday afternoon, but I finished major deadlines.
The band Pretty Good Dance Moves made me feel pretty good listening to their unexpected phosphorescent synth! An American Apparel vibe with electronica pop, their great new single Leave Me Alone (Ft. Bjorn Yttling) transformed the usually rustic Rockwood into a ’80′s flashback. Unfortunately, it’s not for sale yet, and I can’t stop hitting the play button on the band’s MySpace page.
