The question last night at Rockwood Music Hall was would the band, The Flying Change, resembling the size of a chamber orchestra, led by singer/songwriter Sam Jacobs, fit in the 520 square foot venue and still leave enough room for the audience? As performers were changing sets in the intimate space, it seemed an unlimited amount of TFC musicians marched their way through the already crowded bar packing the stage beyond its limit! The effort produced lush harmonies that the band dubs “landscape pop” igniting a burst of energy in the crowd. I also think the almost (you had to sign-up on their mailing list first) free Hanukkah gelt was incentive enough. Check out the band’s site for more info and free downloads.
