Fashion designer Norma Kamali follows her own calendar, or presents ideas and collections that reflect the timing of her customer’s lifestyle. Breaking tradition from showing designs for the next season destined to hit stores in 6 months, Kamali is ready for immediate delivery.
The industry has long hypothesized evolving to a later calender than earlier, not just for the press events, but to deliver designs that are consistent with the seasonal change. Kamali, using all her retail channels from providing at home ‘try before you buy’ service, skype consultations, eBay store and the broad arm of Walmart, speeds up the design and retail cycle that sometimes clogs the fashion business.

For this New York Fashion Week event, Kamali uses the Scanlife Technology in her flagship store. Scanning with your iPhone camera the graphic code displayed with each vignette, builds upon the newly introduced augmented reality apps. Each symbol triggers a short movie, product information or just may make you a winner of one of the designs!
But it wasn’t all about just technology, Kamali, in her signature gray heather jersey, personally shared her views about a healthy lifestyle and just introduced her Wellness Health Cafe in the W 56th St NYC store. Featuring the ultimate vegan and organic experience, Kamali looks at fashion holistically.
