Quick marker fashion illustration by Alfredo Cabrera of model Ema Randall
Last Saturday our NY Fashion Model Drawing Meetup met at The Center in the heart of NYC’s West Village. The former Food and Maritime Trades High School, The Center, is home to cultural and social events servicing the LGBT community.
The 5 minute sketch from the session by fashion designer/illustrator, Alfredo Cabrera, is a great example of the designer’s quick impression while capturing the model’s gesture and enhancing the pose. The side by side comparison between the drawing and the actual stance is a helpful tutorial to understand the fluid spirited line used to express the movement, detail, and texture!
See more examples from the session here, check out Cabrera’s new book 101 Things I Learned in Fashion School launching shortly and read his fashion blog Mamie N Baby!
