As a follow up to my fashion design illustration demonstration using Adobe Illustrator at Parsons, BFA Fashion Digital faculty members, Maura Jurgrau and Chris Musci shared some great sophomore student examples from their classes.
Quickly the design students captured the gestural quality emphasizing their personal drawing style building upon Illustrator’s Brushes. As natural media, to vary line weight heightens expressing dimensional fashion figures rather than a static line that hinders movement and flow.
This is only just the beginning using vectors for fashion design presentations but already highlights Adobe’s emphasis on Illustrator’s natural drawing capabilities.

Wow, Geoffry, these kids can draw! Very impressive – you must be a super great teacher – how could you not be? I can’t wait to see YOUR drawings of Tomo. I thought of your meetup last weekend and felt very sad that I don’t live in NYC so I can come and draw with all of you. Thanks for posting all this great stuff! Love it!
