New Yorkers traveled west yesterday evening to watch Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks on the Hudson River. Thanks to a friend’s generous invitation to view the sparklers from the rooftop, Chris shot these cityscape pics! But the show began early with a gorgeous fiery sunset.
Making the event even more thoughtful for our group was meeting a returning decorated soldier from Afghanistan finishing his tour before embarking on future service.

As a misplaced (Middletown,Ohio)New Yorker, your photographs of the New York skyline at sunset and then displaying the absolute bursting of fireworks warmed my heart as it beat faster. I can imagine how the returned decorated military person felt upon viewing what he/she had fought for as the birth of this great nation was celebrated with such joy.
The photos are amazing and beautiful. They look like confetti is being thrown in the air and caught in mid-action.
They are a work of art on their own.
