Figure X by Patricia Marroquin, oil on canvas, 40″ x 50″ featured in a special group exhibition at DUMBO Arts Festival curated by Marc Dennis.
One of Brooklyn’s creative districts on the waterfront, Dumbo, has attracted pioneers in the arts and technology with its spacious industrial lofts and laid back scene.

Dumbo’s creative neighborhood
Celebrating the artistic community last weekend, the Dumbo Arts Festival showcased artist’s studios, performance art, musicians and organized conferences to highlight the newly minted New York Digital District. A highlight from the presentations came from MediaStorm’s founder Brain Storm, using multimedia to collaborate with photographers that showcase under reported global stories and issues.
In addition to Dumbo centric established artists and galleries, the festival used the opportunity to present work that may not be as well known in “Under the Radar” curated by Marc Dennis. The figurative oil painting by Patricia Marroquin mixing the warm and silvery tones in lively brush strokes celebrates the human form and the beauty of painting.
