What happens when you cross America’s
“miss manners” Emily Post with America’s “sex therapist” Dr. Ruth? You get Miss Abigail, the alter ego of Abigail Grotke based on her collection of over 1,000 classic advice books, spanning from 1822 to 1978 and covering a variety of topics, from love and romance to etiquette and charm.

Inspired by Miss A’s advice books and website, theater vets Ken Davenport (creator of hits such as “Altar Boyz” and “Awesome ’80s Prom”) and actress/comedienne Sarah Saltzberg brought to life the mistress of manners in their witty new Off-Broadway production Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage.
Recently opened this month at Sofia’s Downstairs Theater, the show stars Eve Plumb, America’s favorite middle child aka Jan Brady of The Brady Bunch! Styled in red and lady like pearls, Ms. Plumb espouses the retro-chic love life “how-to’s” in a Facebook generation. While our etiquette expert may dissuade against office romances, a May-September flame seems to kindle between Miss Abigail and her hunky sidekick Paco.
