Artist Will Ryman has planted his fanciful rose garden along Park Avenue Mall between 57th and 67th Streets as part of a site-specific public art display sponsored by NYC Department of Parks & Recreation and Fund for the Park Avenue Sculpture Committee.
A New York native, Ryman knows that the city can get bleak throughout the winter months and his pre-spring colossal blossoms are already warming up the streets. Presenting a larger than life quality, the red and pink fiberglass roses stand 25 feet tall dwarfing streetlights and avenue traffic.
My art-pal Stacy texted me a virtual bouquet yesterday posted at the top and I can imagine Ryman’s surreal roses will become a Valentine and Easter destination!

“Honey, everything’s coming up roses for me and for you!”
When you see these things, is why you have to love New York City.
