Jean-Paul Cattin, “NYC Untitled #07,” represented by the Pelavin Gallery. In his last photographic series, which was produced in NYC in 2010/2011, JEAN-PAUL CATTIN Swiss artist and photographer, who works between NY and Geneva, is looking for a reinterpretation of reality of the urban elements which surround us and which he explores.
Walls, soils, garbage, trucks and other terrestrial materials form the basis of his work. His artwork is presented in large or very large format contrasted to the extreme sometimes highly detailed or otherwise deliberately letting appear the original pixels.
The result shows a strong emphasis on organic, abstract and highly pictorial work. Jean-Paul Cattin’s artwork is exhibited at the Pelavin Gallery in New York.
