Arhaus Furniture celebrates the opening of its tony new 28,000-square-foot retail store in NYC’s Meatpacking District with a special invitation-only party and performance by music legends David Crosby and Graham Nash. Nearly 600 guests mingled under sparkling chandeliers in an intimate setting of beautiful artisan-crafted furniture and home accessories. The thrill of the evening was the duos’ performance of the Crosby, Stills, Nash classic hit ‘Our House’.
Arhaus CEO John Reed and a gracious team of Arhaus executives and creatives greeted guests at the Thursday, May 12th bash, which was not only the reveal of Arhaus’ first NYC store but also a celebration of their 25th anniversary. The Cleveland based furniture retailer currently has 38 stores across the country and is looking forward to making its design and style mark in NYC.
How did Geoff and I stumble across the new Arhaus Furniture in the Meatpacking District? It’s not hard to miss the massive two-story furniture gallery on West 13th Street, just a stone’s throw from the Standard Hotel and the High Line, but what drew us in as a diversion from our Sunday afternoon stroll was name recognition.
Nearly 20 years ago when we taught at the School of Fashion Design at Kent State University in Ohio, Geoff’s sister Debbi gave us her treasured Arhaus Shaker-styled bed, which eventually traveled with us to our home in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Years later in the same spirit we gifted it to another couple that set off on their own cross-country adventure. Such good memories!
